Virtual Celebration & Fundraiser Set for Veteran’s Day

Keeping guests healthy and safe during the Covid-19 Pandemic is providing a unique opportunity for Home for Dinner, Inc.

We’re delighted to invite guests to “Join Us at YOUR Table” on Nov. 11 for Veteran’s Day to celebrate our efforts and raise funds for veterans in Benton and Washington counties.

Rather than host their annual dinner program with a large crowd, Home for Dinner, Inc. created a way for guests to enjoy the entertainment and program over a delicious meal while remaining safely in their own space. Participants will enjoy music from the “Red, White & Blue Lounge,” veteran speakers and a fun auction in a new, virtual way.

The fundraising portion of the event starts early, on Nov. 3, with the opening of online bidding on seven unique auction items. Links from the homefordinner.us website will take shoppers to the auction site where they can view and bid on items such as a custom-designed four-piece jewelry collection, a fun and locally-produced Puttskee game (think Skee-ball meets a practice putting mat), a basket of personal care products for all ages from Johnson & Johnson, a luxury ladies watch from Blakeman’s Jewelry, a gourmet cooking class including a meal and specialty cocktail, a three-hour guided NWA mountain-bike cruise for six guests, and a three-night stay at a beautiful executive home on Lake Windsor for 10, including a cocktail cruise and gourmet dinner.

Online auction bidding ends at 7 pm on Nov. 11. Proceeds from the auction directly support the group’s year-round activities, such as providing veterans with meals, funding scholarships for veterans, distributing holiday food baskets to veteran’s families, and support for veteran lounges at local colleges.

On the day of the event, guests should plan to pick up their pre-ordered meals and head to a comfortable space with a good internet connection to start the live stream. A guitar duo will entertain from the “Red, White & Blue Lounge” before the program, which will feature several speakers including a student-veteran scholarship recipient. A performance by the Bentonville High School Show Choir and an auction update from auctioneer Robert Hopkins will round out the program, with a moving rendition of “Taps” by U.S. Navy Veteran Timothy Hendrix on trumpet to close the event.

Partners for this year’s virtual event include 1st Class Culinary; Blakeman’s Fine Jewelry; Johnson & Johnson; Mustard Seed Holdings, LLC; Regenerous Designs; The Puttskee; Upgraded Fitness, LLC. Video production will be coordinated by Chandler Harris and the Bentonville High School Ignite Video Production team under the direction of Anthony Byrnes.
